Keep your place in the story
To update the downloaded game, get the current package from Hahadit's itch.io page and install or extract it for your device. Open the updated game and choose Load to continue your existing story.
Hahadit has explained that players will install the new update to unlock the next chapter, with their progress carrying forward. Make a fresh manual save, keep a backup, and follow the steps for the version you play.
Give the backup a date, chapter, and route name. For example, this makes several playthroughs easier to tell apart:

Ren'Py uses these parent folders for persistent saves. Find the subfolder associated with CreepyDates inside the location for your operating system:
%APPDATA%/RenPy/~/Library/RenPy/~/.renpy/Copy the complete CreepyDates save folder into a dated backup folder, including persistent data. The extracted game may also contain a local copy in game/saves; keep that folder with your backup too if it is present.
On Windows, paste the parent path into File Explorer's address bar. On Mac, use Finder → Go → Go to Folder. Recent file dates can help identify the folder used by your latest session.
Keep the existing app installed while following this update process. If Android displays an installation error, note its exact wording so you can follow the matching troubleshooting steps.

Export a fresh backup after finishing a chapter or an important route section. This also gives you a copy to use when moving to another browser or device.

Include your device, operating system, game version, language, chapter, and the exact message shown. Say whether you are playing in the browser, on desktop, on Android, or in Renpy Pocket.
